Class Rules

  • Follow the directions of your instructor at all times. Allow the instructor to fully explain and demonstrate moves before attempting them.Remain quiet and listen while the instructor is addressing the class.

  • Do not attempt any move that you have not been instructed in by your instructor. Do not attempt new moves without the direct supervision of your instructor. Do not copy other students or take instruction from other students.

  • Do not attempt any move that you feel is out of your ability. If something does not feel safe, or you feel pain, please stop and make your instructor aware. Your instructor will give alternatives where needed so that you can work up to the move safely.

  • If you injure yourself or witness an injury, please inform your instructor. Inform your instructor before class if your health status changes (injuries, pregnancy, medication).

  • Physical spotting will occur during the class for safety. Some moves require a spot to participate.

  • Use the mats, they’re there for your safety. NOTE: Be careful when stepping on and off of the mats. Move mats out of the way when not in use. Dismount from moves with CONTROL and execute moves safely. If moves cannot be executed with control, you should work on regressions to build up the required strength. Mats are not a replacement for poor technique or control.

  • We understand that students are eager to progress, however students must build up a foundation of strength, regardless of their fitness background. Pole is a skill, and students will be taken through progressions step-by-step to reduce the risk of injury. If your instructor doesn’t feel you’re ready for the move, or if you don’t feel ready to do a move your instructor can give you an alternative to build up.

  • If you’d like to work on a specific move or skill that is not being covered in class, or you feel you need a little more tuition on, you can book in for 121 lessons where you will have the instructors full attention.

  • Inform the instructor immediately if you believe the pole to be loose, or if you have any concerns about it.

  • You will not be permitted to take part if the instructor believes you to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. No refund will be given.

  • Breaking the rules, or engaging in unsafe behaviour may result in you being asked to leave the class without a refund.

Photography & Video

  • Photos and videos are allowed of yourself. Please be mindful not to capture instructors and other students in your pictures and videos.

  • Only take photos/videos when it is safe to do so. It can be helpful to film yourself to improve your form, and to compare progress.

  • Videos and pictures may be used by your instructor for social media purposes.

Class Etiqutte

  • Students must not intimidate other students or the instructor with their behaviour, language, lack of support or encouragement, dismissal of instruction or their previous experience/ability. You may be asked to leave the class and your remaining sessions cancelled WITHOUT REFUND.

  • Take turns if you are sharing a pole with a fellow student.

  • Stand clear of the pole when it is not your turn, or when moves are being demonstrated by the instructor.

  • Tidy up after yourself. Put back mats and cloths at the end of class. Take all rubbish with you.

  • Have FUN, support each other and stay safe :D

What/What Not To Wear

  • NEW STUDENTS: you're welcome to wear leggings/joggers on your first session. Some students feel more comfy wearing cycling shorts in the beginning.

  • DO NOT apply moisturiser, lotion, fake tan or oil to your skin on the day of the class. They can transfer to the pole and make it dangerous for you and also anyone else using the pole. You may be asked to sit out from your class.

  • ALL jewellery (including wedding rings) and buckles must be removed before class. Please do not wear accessories or embellished clothing (no zips, tassels, belts, jewels, etc.) You may be asked to sit out from class.

  • Please wear appropriate clothing. Form-fitting shorts are recommended. Loose clothing can become dangerous as it can become trapped between skin and the pole. Wear appropriate undergarments, as the pole tends to shift clothing.

  • Cleaning products will be provided to keep the pole free of grease. Check the pole before your turn to avoid slipping.

  • Only approved pole grip aids may be used on the poles. Some grip aids and chalks can damage the poles. Please ask your instructor for recommendations.
